  If love Fantasy audiobooks, but the audio quality of these is horrendous unfortunately

  I was going to say the same thing about the quality. These have been floating around for awhile now and they are terrible. For me personally I can’t listen to them.

  Nothing against acidrazzor. Everyone has their own opinion and mine is as worthless as the next.

  Yea, wish the quality was better but as you said this is an old download and there is no new version on audible to purchase. I had lost it when my external hard drive stopped working and couldn’t believe it when I couldn’t find them anymore. Lucky for me I gave a copy to my brother so I put them up for those that want to listen to them but don’t mind the quality. That’s how I am I just enjoy any books I can listen to it allows me to work, play, ride my motorcycle etc. and read at the same time. Good quality is nice but to me it’s like listening to an old radio show. That’s how it was back then they didn’t have what we do now and there is a lot that will never get remade. So you have to enjoy it for what it is even if it’s not up to todays standards. But if you can find a better quality version of these four books please post it because I would love to hear it. I really enjoyed this series when I was a kid and still do today.

  I’m only half way through the first book. I have to say the quality is far from the best but also far from horrendous. If people can’t listen to these files then their standards are way to high. I have heard much worse.

  I’ve seen this quadrilogy term used before. It’s not even a real word. Probably no one cares but me but it’s just imaginary crap being passed off out of ignorance.

  words are created all the time. usually because they are being used enough to warrant adding them to the dictionary. language is supposed to be flexible. think shakespeare.

  People Just have to find something to complain about LMAO. It’s free enjoy it or create your own torrent and call it what ever. that being said I do know tetralogy is the correct term for some but to me tetra is just to close to trilogy. We all know what quad means though and yes here is what it says below if you look it up. But as boone said words are created all the time and language changes. Since this is my torrent I get to use language that pleases me. Sorry if this offends the linguist in you but even linguists know that language’s change try reading The Canterbury Tales sometime and you will see how much our speech and spelling for things has changed. So please if the torrent isn’t working let me know otherwise please just tell it to someone else and stop nitpicking. Thank you to everyone that has seeded this or just enjoyed it.

  Quadrilogy an awkward mix of Greek and Latin, seen as incorrect by some linguists (despite the common word “television” being a similar combination of Greek and Latin). The Latin-rooted word “tetralogy” means the same thing and avoids the awkwardness. other words that have similar combinations of Greek and Latin are Aquaphobia, Automobile, Biathlon, Bigamy, Bioluminescence, Claustrophobia, Dysfunction, Electrocution, Genocide, Heterosexual, Homosexual, Hyperactive, and Hypercorrection to name a few words that are a so called Corruption or bastardisation of the language.

  Now what do they say on that? It is the popularly held, but unscientific, idea that language change constitutes a degradation in the quality of a language, especially when the change originates historically from human error or prescriptively discouraged usage. Descriptive linguistics typically does not support this concept, since from a scientific point of view such changes are neither good nor bad.

  PS — it’s neither a quadrilogy or a tetralogy (the correct word for a series of 4), but a trilogy and a sequel, according to the publisher and author anyway. Look at the book covers.

  Audio is from the NLS, first book read by Dennis Rooney. Seems very clear, if from tape it’s an excellent rip.

  Quadrilogy is simply a colloquialism, why are you arguing the linguistics of a word that isn’t really based on anything but adaptation of a current (usually of straight-up language root and such) word for the explicit purpose of use in general terms.

  Spend your energy as grammar nazi’s on something less vague, like the language root that formed the word soda, as in carbonated drink.

  *raises glass of Sprite, liberally added to existing glass of spirit, ratio 1:7.*

  *wipes up the Sprite that went on top of the rum and out beyond the limit of what a tiny little glass could hold even with a nice floral decor when already brim-full of aforementioned rum.*
